Please join us on the evening of May 28th at 6 p.m. for a virtual book group via videoconference to discuss Pulitzer Prize-winning historian Rick Atkinson‘s new history, “The British Are Coming: The War for America, Lexington to Princeton, 1773-1777.” Space is limited, so please register in advance here.
“To say that Atkinson can tell a story is like saying Sinatra can sing,” wrote historian Joseph Ellis in the New York Times Book Review.
“The British Are Coming” is the first volume in Atkinson’s projected trilogy of the American Revolution. He is also the author of “An Army at Dawn”and two other volumes of his Liberation Trilogy about the Second World War; “Crusade,”about the Persian Gulf War; “The Long Gray Line,” the acclaimed story of the West Point class of 1966; and many other works.
Due to ongoing social distancing guidelines, we have postponed Atkinson’s May 15 author talk at JHC. We hope to reschedule the event as soon as it is possible to do so.
