Why do you volunteer at the Jay Heritage Center? I love history and sparking people’s curiosity about the past. I had docent training for the “Unknown Soldiers” exhibit and gave tours during Jay Day. I have also spent many pleasant Sundays volunteering in the peaceful gardens.
What has been your favorite experience at Jay Heritage? A highlight was Jay Day when I saw the estate through the eyes of local visitors. I especially enjoyed the thoughtfulness of the other volunteers who made me feel that my service was appreciated.
What is one thing you think makes Jay Heritage Center special? The incredibly helpful staff and volunteers, as well as the beautiful property and its connection to American history.
Do you have a favorite spot on the Jay property? My favorite spot on the property is the colorful and expansive vegetable garden. I love that its abundance is shared with the community.
