We are delighted to welcome Daniel B. Derman to our Board of Trustees. As we advance more active usage of our park and buildings, his extensive finance background, commitment to lifelong learning and dedication to providing access to education for others will be great assets.
Dan has over 20 years of experience in the Fixed Income markets with a focus on leveraged credit, both performing and distressed. He currently serves as a Managing Director and Head of Loan Trading within Capital Markets for Golub Capital, a market-leading and award-winning direct lending firm with over $60 billion of assets under management. Previously, Dan held senior credit trading and capital markets positions at Imperial Capital, Aristeia Capital, Silver Point Capital, Bear Stearns, and GE Capital. He also has experience as an angel investor and board member for several start-up companies.
Dan has always been active in service to Colgate University, his alma mater, including holding roles on the President’s Club Membership Committee, President of the Alumni Club of New York, the Alumni Corporation Board of Directors as well as serving in various formal and informal mentoring roles for undergraduates and younger alums. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Apawamis Foundation, an organization established to support education and educational excellence by granting scholarships and providing financial assistance to students, institutions, and other organizations for staff and family of the Apawamis Club.
In addition to his B.A. from Colgate, Dan holds an M.B.A. from New York University Stern School of Business. He lives in Rye with his wife and two daughters. He enjoys travel, spending time with family, skiing, golf, and doubles squash.
