Making the Presidency with Lindsay M. Chervinsky and Joanne B. Freeman

Join us Sunday, November 3 when we will welcome Dr. Lindsay M. Chervinsky, a presidential historian, to the Jay Estate. She is the author of the award-winning book, The Cabinet: George Washington and the Creation of an American Institution, co-editor of Mourning the Presidents: Loss and Legacy in American Culture, and the acclaim-winning book, Making the Presidency: John Adams and the Precedents That Forged the Republic. She regularly writes for public audiences in the Wall Street Journal, Ms. Magazine, The Daily Beast, The Bulwark, Time Magazine, USA Today, CNN, and the Washington Post.

We’re also excited that Hamilton scholar and  Joanne B. Freeman, a Professor of History and American Studies at Yale,  will return to JHC to speak with her. Prof. Freeman specializes in early American politics and political culture. Her interest in political violence and political polarization—dirty, nasty, politics—has made her work particularly relevant in recent years.

Mark your calendars and don’t miss this standout program!
