Jay Day

Jay Day is part of New York State’s Hudson River Valley Ramble which celebrates the history, culture, and natural resources of the Hudson River Valley National Heritage Area as well as the amazing landscapes, communities and trails throughout the region.

From pony rides in the landscape to dancing along to live bluegrass music on our Mansion veranda, the offerings for families grow year after year. I Love My Parks Day

JHC, in partnership with the New York State Parks, Recreation & Historic Preservation, participates in the annual I Love My Park Day held each spring. The event celebrates volunteerism at our favorite historic and natural sites and highlights the beauty and history in our own community at the Jay Heritage Center.

Star Gazing

In past summers, Jason Kendall of the Amateur Astronomers Association of New York and Professor of Astronomy at William Paterson University have provided an outdoor slideshow on stars, galaxies and nebulae for families. They share glimpses of the Moon, Saturn, Jupiter, and Mars through a telescope. The Jay Heritage Center meadow with zero light pollution is a beautiful place to lay out a blanket, enjoy live music and food while taking in the stars and learning from passionate presenters.
