Please join us in applauding our incredible 25th Anniversary Co-Chairs Kelly Bakshi, Angie Nadler, Kingsley Rooney and Kathryn Schnaars and their committee for a superlative event this past Saturday! They illuminated the Jay Estate with vibrant new friend and ideas. Over 400 celebrants mingled in the mansion, marveled at new art acquisitions, dined, danced and popped glorious confetti cannons in the air in recognition of what a treasure has been preserved in our town! Everyone had a taste of a scrumptious anniversary cake shaped like the Jay mansion – it was quickly devoured from its sweetly iced seamed copper roof to its marzipan columns.
The Jay Heritage Center received proclamations from County Executive Rob Astorino , NY State Senator George Latimer and Assemblyman Steve Otis together with a toast from Chuck Lesnick from Governor Cuomo’s office. But wait there’s more – we were honored to be joined by numerous descendants of John Jay for the festivities. We are especially indebted to the late Mrs. Bennett Jack and her children and grandchildren – Griff Samples, Sherri Redden, Zeb, Kalif and Scott Redden – and their families for their special 25th Anniversary donation of authentic Jay, Pierrepont and Constable family touchstones.
So many people helped make the night truly joyful: Betsy White was a perfect treasurer and scribe while Liz Garrett deftly crafted an enchanted garden with flowering branches and fairy lights. Our very own Bruce MacDonald made the mansion glow and Jon Pattengill ensured that every bulb stayed lit! Shawn Callaghan Diaz and Homeworks curated our elegant lounges with plush seating! Fairway Wine & Spirits and Danielle Taggert-Epstein provided sparkling libations. Special thanks to Taryn Clary, Sean Curran and Daphne Thompson for leading our hospitality team! With immense thanks to John Byrne & Scarborough Fair Catering for incredible food and service; Norman Deutsch and ABC Fabulous Tent for our gorgeous crystal tent; Sweet Lisa’s Exquisite Cakes for our yummy Anniversary centerpiece; Thom O’Grady and Ryan Printing for our signature invitation and graphic design; and Carcierge for white glove valet service.
Our apologies for any errors or omissions! We are truly thankful to everyone who has helped make this 25th anniversary milestone possible, especially our founding members, volunteers & community leaders!
